What meal plans are offered at USF St. Petersburg? How do I track my usage?

What meal plans are mandatory?

First year residents will be required to purchase a Gold or Gold Plus Plan, all other residents have the choice of a Gold, Gold Plus, or Green plan. ALL residents are required to purchase a meal plan.

When can I pay for the meal plan?

We are currently accepting payments for the meal plan.

How can I pay for the meal plan?

Your contract payment can be submitted via cash or check at the Cashier's Office, or by Visa, Mastercard or Discover via your OASIS account. Be sure and include your (student) name and UID on payment transactions.

When is the meal plan payment due?

The entire cost of a meal plan is due the same day tuition is due, Friday of the first week of school. If you do not pay by that date, you will incur a $100 late fee.

Is there a meal plan installment program?

No.

What are SharkBites?

SharkBites are an account that allows you to purchase individual food items "a la carte" at the Reef, Coral Cafe and at the Bulls Market Cafe. 

You can buy SharkBites as often as you like. You can do so on-line or at the Cashier's Office in BAY132. SharkBites are purchased at a discounted rate. Please see the SharkBites section on the Meal Plans page to view the current discount.

Can a meal plan contract be canceled?

Contract cancellations can be made when your housing cancellation is approved, or you withdraw from the university. A cancellation form must be completed and submitted along with proper documentation. An administrative fee will be assessed, and only a partial refund will be given unless you have not purchased any meals.

What kind of food does USF Dining Services offer?

Regional, international, home foods, comfort foods, all with a focus on health and wellness. There are also specific dietary options (i.e., Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc.). All food items are clearly labeled for ingredients (e.g., peanuts, eggs, etc.). This information is also described in printed menus, signage and labels. Additionally, servers are knowledgeable and can answer any questions or concerns you may have.

My residence is equipped with a kitchen, why do I need a meal plan?

USFSP Dining Services provides you with a variety of fresh and sustainable food options. Our goal is to promote healthy living through nutritious, balanced meal options for all of our residents. Some of the student housing spaces are also furnished with a kitchen as an added convenience for those times when a snack or meal alternative is preferred by our students.

I have misplaced my meal plan card! What do I do now?

Dining Policies

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:

  • Please bus your dishes and disposables from your table when you have finished dining
  • Please refrain from taking food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
  • Remember that meal cards are non-transferable. Meal cards cannot be used by anyone but the purchaser.
